Atonement Questions2

1. The book probably would have ended from a start, girls gossip, boys keep secrets, and yes, I'm looking to make controversy, or in the case that he were able to see what happened, a boy would tell the truth and don't get obsessed with the idea of a sex maniac.
2. It is in some extent. It shows how cruel can the war be, in relation with the separation between lovers, and later on with the injuries of battle, deaths on the battlefield, the constant suffering, etc.
3. There are parts that are macabre, especially the ending, after distracting us with a happy ending where Cecilia and Robbie end up together in London, the truth comes like a stone to the head, as we are revealed that Cecilia and Robbie were actually dead all the time, and destroys the affection we felt for the couple.
4. If Cecilia were to tell the story she would turned the story as a drama of her impossible love and he wouldn't have tell us what happened with Briony with her because she died. Robbie would have tell us the reality of war, like many other writers who were there and we couldn't know what happened with Briony as well, because you know, he died. Briony would have tell us all things with the naiveness that she had throughout the novel, making things look a little more light hearted. And if Lola told it, it would be a little bit more like a romantic novel, were she tells us how she felt in love with Paul Marshall and how she managed to have sex, of course.

Atonement guide

2. The scene between Robbie and Cecilia at the fountain is important in the story because it's the starting point of how Briony sees Robbie and how it makes him been guilty of a crime he didn't commit, although it wasn't the most important it helped Briony making her conclusion of who raped Lola.
Lola also helped the decision of Briony because she didn't say the truth when she had to and told Briony that it was Robbie, the sex maniac.

8. Yes, the end did surprise me, I didn't expect the death of two of the main characters, Robbie and Cecilia, after all the effort the made to make their relationship work. Is also dissapointing that Briony never really told anyone of her family that Robbie was innocent after all. The other thing that surprised me was the marriage of Lola with Paul Marshal, she married a man who has raped her before, that's wrong in so many levels.

Assessment task partner

Rationale 2/2
It's very clear the process behind the task and gives us a spotlight of what's going on.
Task and content 6/8
The writer doesn't give a sufficient explanation to the examples given and doesn't go further in the tries of explanations.
Organization 3/5
The text is disorganized, there is no conjunction between ideas, it goes from ideas to a pseud conclusion and then back to some other ideas.
Language and style 4/5
There are minor orthographic errors, but this doesn't change the sense of the text.

The text globally shows that the student knows the topic and he has certain knowledge of it. It tries to show his ideas and explain then and fails in some extent. He proves his points but gives unnecessary turns and doesn't hit the point.
